How
as parents do we let our children out into this world knowing that harm
might be only a moment away. How do we say have a nice day see you later
not knowing if they will come home to us safe and sound. When we see
and hear about such a tragedy as the one in Connecticut it makes us all
have doubt in such simple every day things that we just take for
granted. Going to work, going to School; we
assume we will get through the day peacefully and happily return home
to our loved ones. Sadly when we have deranged, crazy people in this
world posing as human beings who don't understand the value of life and
love our fate sometimes lies in their hands. We can have better gun
control laws but like drugs crazy people and criminals always seem to be
able to obtain weapons. I still say we should at least try to make it
harder for them to get weapons. But in this crazy world we live in
sometimes it hard to figure our how we can make this world a little
safer for all of us. I guess we have no real answers just more questions
that will never be answered. As we head towards the Christmas holidays
we try to have a less heavy heart and have our hearts filled with joy
and faith. Sometimes this is impossible but we can't let this one man in
Connecticut or any other individual keep us from living our lives. We
have to be able to laugh, love, live, and enjoy our lives. We have to
try and make our children happy and carefree even when such horrors
exits in this life. We have to strive to not let them be scared and
afraid to go out into this world even when we are ourselves. We have to
let them know that even in this crazy world goodness still is more
prevalent. We will always get through the really hard times because we
know that goodness and love will still overcome evil and hatred. When
things are bad that's when you see so many good people trying to help.
All the heroes and regular human beings join together in unity. I pray
for all the victims and their families and no words right now from me or
anyone else can ease their pain only time will make it a little more
bearable.
He walks into my darkness
A Knight, a King
No an ordinary man
He brings with him
Not great wealth nor ego
But a kindness, a gentleness, a goodness
And a lightness that takes me
Out of my darkness
And brightens my days.
He's more then I could
Have ever dreamed of
Or hoped for
And I love him true
I don't know if my love is in vain
If he could ever love me too
But I will love him all the same
My feelings will never change
A Knight, a King
No an ordinary man
He brings with him
Not great wealth nor ego
But a kindness, a gentleness, a goodness
And a lightness that takes me
Out of my darkness
And brightens my days.
He's more then I could
Have ever dreamed of
Or hoped for
And I love him true
I don't know if my love is in vain
If he could ever love me too
But I will love him all the same
My feelings will never change
Sometimes
we don't realize how important our existence in this world is. We don't
think that we truly have a purpose; a reason for being. That no one
really needs us in their lives. We sell ourselves short. Believing that
we are not valued deeply by others. We can't measure our purpose in
terms of saving people lives, curing cancer or being a super hero. Our
purpose comes from not what we think our worth always is to others but
rather what others value our purpose to be. As long as someone considers
you a friend as long as they breathe they will need you in their lives.
